A human skeleton was found on Mattattukkadu road in Madukkarai Marappalam area yesterday. Autopsy reveals it is of a 30-40 year old male. The main bones were taken for examination. Police investigates to determine the identity.


Coimbatore: The skeleton was recovered in a burnt condition near Coimbatore.

The medical autopsy brought to light that the victim is a 30- to 40-year-old man and police are investigating to discover the identity of the man. A human skeleton was found on Mattattukkadu road in Madukkarai Marappalam area yesterday. When police reached the location, the skeleton was in a burnt condition.

Also found next to the skeleton were two lighters and a shoe. Forensic experts collected the evidence. A medical team led by Dr. Jayasinghe of the Government Hospital conducted the autopsy. It is assumed to be the skeleton of a 30-40 year old male and the incident may have taken place a month ago. The main bones were taken for examination.

Police are scanning records to determine if anyone is missing in the Madukkarai neighbourhood. Police are investigating if the incident took place at the location where skeleton was discovered or if it was brought here from another location.
