Schools opened in Valparai adhering to covid protocols like maintaining social distancing, testing body temperature for students, wearing face mask, washing hands and using sanitizers.
Coimbatore: For the past two years in Tamil Nadu, classes were conducted online for students in schools and colleges as educational institutional closed because of the spread of the coronavirus.
The Ministry of Education announced that schools for students of Class 9 to Class 12 will be operational in the last few months as per the order of the Chief Minister as the state recorded a slump in corona virus cases. This was followed with the opening of colleges and the partial opening of schools on September 1st.
Following this, the Tamil Nadu government announced that schools for students of class 1st to 8th class will reopen on November 1. Panchayat Union Primary School and Middle School in Valparai reopened today. Steps have been taken to admit students to the school following the guidelines laid down by the government.
Students from 98 schools in Valparai, Coimbatore district have attended the school with enthusiasm since the first day. About 40 people are studying at Nallakattu Panchayat Union Primary School near Valparai. Only a few students attended the school.
At 9 a.m. the teachers arrived at the school and they checked the students’ body temperature and recorded it.
Students were asked to wash their hands, sanitize them and then were allowed them into the classes.
Students were given a warm welcomed and were offered sweets by the school.
Also only 2 students are allowed to be seated on a bench with social distancing maintained in each class. Classes are conducted following all the prescribed covid protocols. Parents eagerly dropped them off their wards at school. The enrolment of children in the school will continue from next month, December.
