Minister Senthil Balaji met the public and received petitions at the People's Assembly held at Wards 79, 85 to 100 of the Thondamuthur and Kinnathukadavu Assembly constituencies.
Coimbatore: Senthil Balaji, Minister of Electricity, Prohibition and Excise, met the public and received petitions at the People's Assembly held at Coimbatore Corporation, Coimbatore South Thondamuthur and Kinnathukadavu Assembly constituencies 79, 85 to 100th Ward.
As per the order of the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, the minister met people in the three wards of the Coimbatore Corporation under the Coimbatore South Thondamuthur and Kinathukadavu Assembly constituencies to expedite the their requests and submit petitions regarding the basic needs of their wards and other facilities related to their grievances in the meeting that was held on Sunday.
District Collector GS Sameeran presided over the event. Corporation Commissioner and Special Officer Raja Gopal Sunkara welcomed the gathering.

The Minister said, "As directed by the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, in all the 100 wards under the Corporation of Coimbatore, in 50 places such as Municipalities and town panchayats a total of 150 places, all the Departmental Officers of the District will go in person to meet the public and receive petitions. I would also like to express my appreciation for the District Administrator for the excellent implementation of the projects. I assure all the elders, mothers, youth and all those who have come here with confidence in the Chief Minister that all the departmental officials of the district who have visited here will take appropriate action on your petitions as soon as possible and bring the orders of the Chief Minister to you at the earliest."
He added, "In a historic achievement that has not yet taken place in the Corporation of Coimbatore, the Chief Minister has directed that one out of every 100 wards in the Corporation of Coimbatore be disbanded and meet the public in person and receive petitions. 3,833 petitions were received from the public in 6 wards of wards 59, 60, 61, 62, 63 and 64 in the people's assembly program held recently in Singanallur assembly constituency. Appropriate action will be taken on the petitions received for the old age allowance at the People's Assembly held today at approximately 17 places in wards 79, 85 to 100 of the Thondamuthur and Kinathukadavu Assembly constituencies.
The Chief Minister has assured that the old age allowance will be given to all those who have applied for it in the areas under the Coimbatore district. According to the petitions filed by the public at the People's Assembly yesterday, drinking water is being distributed once in 9 days in the areas under the Corporation of Coimbatore, as well as in all the areas under the Corporation of Coimbatore for more than a week."
He further said, "Therefore, with this in mind, a special scheme has been set up as per the order of the Chief Minister to conduct a survey of the entire Coimbatore Corporation area as soon as possible and distribute drinking water once in 2 days. Work is currently underway to prepare for it. Project evaluations are being prepared on behalf of the Corporation Administration and the Drinking Water Board. Similarly the canals in these areas will be dug and the blockages will be repaired. In addition, the underground sewerage project in the Corporation areas has not been fully implemented.
I assure you that it will expedite the receipt of funds for the underground sewerage project throughout the Thondamuthur block and that all the roads under the Corporation of Coimbatore will be surveyed and inspected and the roads will be repaired and resolved soon with special funds. And during the election, the Chief Minister made 505 promises. Of these, the Chief Minister has fulfilled 202 promises during his 5 months in office. He has provided a sum of rupees 4,000 as relief allowances for family cards and 14 items were distributed free of cost during the government period. He has reduced the price of petrol and the price of milk."
"In addition, the government has announced various special schemes such as free travel for women on buses. For the development of Coimbatore District, the Chief Minister is to provide various special schemes in 234 constituencies, including 10 Assembly constituencies in the district. I assure you that the department will definitely resolve the demands of all those who have come to the event and submitted their petitions."
Following this, the Minister of Electricity, Prohibition and Excise, Senthil Balaji, started the work of painting a beautiful painting on the wall of the building of the Slum Clearance Board on behalf of the Street Ad India Foundation in the grassland area of Coimbatore Corporation will be undertaken. Later, road facilities and a new government hospital will be set up in sugarcane areas for an estimated cost of Rs 82 lakh. Also, school facilities will be upgraded. Rainwater drainage canals and underground sewerage facilities will be set up, informed the minister.
