The Commissioner insisted the engineers to immediately renovate the rainwater drainage in 73rd ward.
Coimbatore: The Coimbatore City Municipal Corporation Commissioner inspected the Women’s Park, urban hospitals and Corporation schools in the city’s Central zone.
The CCMC Commissioner and Special Officer, Raja Gopal Sunkara visited the Puliyakulam Corporation Primary School, High School and the Sundaresan lay-out Primary School in Central Zone here.
He briefed the engineers about the classrooms, laboratories, power, water supply and toilets and instructed them to keep the campus, parks and surrounding areas clean and hygienic.
The CCMC Commissioner urged for the quick completion of sanitation works in Corporation High Schools and primary schools, and instructed the workers to spray mosquito repellents in the classrooms and the school premises, and clean water tanks thoroughly.
The CCMC Commissioner then inspected the Women's Park at Nehru Nagar and emphasized that the gym and park should be maintained well and kept clean.
He then collected details of patients visiting the Ramanathapuram PHC on a daily basis, and checked on treatments undertaken, medicines and if adequate stock was available.
Thereafter, the CCMC Commissioner surveyed the space allotted for the construction of the Urban Hospital in the PHC premises which is estimated at ₹.1.05 crore.
He also insisted on renovating the damaged rainwater drainage channel in the bus stand road near the Government College Hospital in ward no.73. He directed the engineers to expedite the process. The Assistant Commissioner of Central Zone, Sundararajan, Assistant Executive Engineer Prabhakaran, engineers and Health Inspectors accompanied the Corporation Commissioner during the inspection.
