The Nilgiris: Officials of the Anti-Corruption Department raided the Regional Transport Office (RTO) in Ooty.
In the uninformed raid conducted at the Ooty Regional Transport Office, officers of the Directorate of Vigilance and Anti-Corruption (DVAC) seized unaccounted cash of ₹.1,38,058. The anti-corruption officers are interrogating Vehicle Inspector Kulothungan.
It has become routine for vehicle mediators to overpay transport officers during the Diwali season. The anti-corruption officers led by Inspector Geetha Lakshmi raided the RTO on learning this and seized the unaccounted cash and seized the documents.
