A 21-year-old male died after he ran into a pothole near TELC Girl’s School in the Kinathukadavu region.
Coimbatore: A 21-year-old van driver was killed after he ran into a pothole in the service road in Kinathukadavu.
Jaganathan, (53), is a labourer from Kaaniyalampalayam near Kinathukadavu in Coimbatore district lives with his wife Baby (51), daughter Kalaiselvi and two sons Sivakumar (21) and Gauri Shankar (17).
Sivakumar worked as a van driver. He was headed to his grandfather Natarajan’s house in Veerappakoundanputhur. Sivakumar, who was riding through Kaaniyalampalayam ran his two-wheeler into a pothole in the middle of the service road near the TELC Girl's Higher Secondary School in Kinathukadavu. Sivakumar suffered severe head injuries. He was rescued by the public and was rushed to Pollachi GH. Doctors administered first aid and sent him to Coimbatore Government Hospital for specialised treatment. Sivakumar was treated at the Intensive care unit, did not respond to treatment and succumbed to his injuries.
The Kinathukadavu police have registered a case and are investigating the incident.
