Air Arabia official sources have announced that flight services will be provided on all 7 days of the week starting 25th October from Coimbatore to Sharjah owing to the ICC Men’s T20I World Cup.
Coimbatore: The ICC Men’s T20I Championship has led Air Arabia to facilitate flights from Coimbatore to Sharjah. This will come into effect from October 25th.
Air Arabia’s official sources announced that flights will be operated between Coimbatore and Sharjah for all 7 days in the week beginning from 25th October. With this, Air Arabia becomes the first airline to provide international air service on all seven days from Coimbatore.
The sources state the major reason behind the move is due to the passenger count arising due to the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup held in UAE.
The sources further state, “This flight has the capacity to accommodate 180 passengers. Whereas at present the flight is operated with 120, 130 passengers. This morning the flight took off with only 80 passengers. This is a temporary service, which will be provided till the end of November. 3 to 3.5 tonnes of cargo are regularly booked in this flight. Vegetables, engineering goods, fabrics are some of the items which are regularly booked from Coimbatore.”
Air Arabia' has been providing service between Coimbatore - Sharjah since 2008. This was the only direct flight in the international sector at Coimbatore International Airport. Two more services, Singapore and Colombo have been added currently. Since the services began in 2008, international service was not provided for all 7 days a week, by Air Arabia.
The operation of the flight on all seven days has thrilled the passengers.
