CM today inaugurated the Government Arts College at Muthipalayam in Thondamuthur area of Coimbatore district, which was built worth 8 crores during the last AIADMK regime. Following this, Thondamuthur legislator and former minister SP Velumani lit the lamp and inspected the campus.

The college teachers then put forward some requests and demands to him.
Following this, he spoke among the students and said that “the Chief Minister has opened the college through video but it was funded and built during the last regime. The college should grow without political discrimination. 40-year-old demand of the people of the area has now been met.”
He wished the students to study further and progress from here. Also in keeping with the demand of the teachers that the college needs perimeter walls and seats, he said he would do it as soon as possible after getting it to the attention of the government or from the MLA's funds.
The Government College, which has been in demand for a long time by the people of the area, has reopened today, much to the delight of the people and students of the area.
