Four officials including a railway station officer have been transferred to Pollachi railway station.
Coimbatore: The Podanur-Kinathukadavu-Pollachi train service has been suspended for the last two years due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Electrification work has been on for the last two years and is now nearing completion. The Railway Safety Commissioner has inspected and approved the railway administration to begin freight traffic.
The Kinathukadavu railway station had also been closed to enable the completion of the electrification work. Meanwhile, four railway officials including a railway station officer had been transferred to Pollachi railway station. Hence, the Kinathukadavu railway station is closed and deserted with no officials. The sudden closure of the Kinathukadavu railway station has come as a shock to commuters who were eagerly awiaitng for the trains to resume service after the completion of the electrification work.
