The Civil Supply officers received information that ration rice bags are hoarded in Tirupur after which the flying squad searched and seized 70 bags of rice
Tirupur: Civil Supply Flying Squad seized 70 bags of ration rice in Tirupur, based on a tip-off received.
The Tirupur Civil Supply department received information stating ration rice has been hoarded in a godown in Kangeyam Road in Tirupur. Flying officers led by Special Tahsildar Sundaram conducted a search operation at Kathir Garden area. The officer broke open the godown and found bags of rice stored inside. The smugglers escaped from the place, however, the bags of rice were recovered and sent to the civil supplies depot.
Special Tahsildar Sundaram said the occupants of the godown fled however, legal action would be taken against smugglers.
