Requests to desilt Rajavaikkal in Karumbukadai region, cleaning sewers in Peelamedu regions were placed to the Corporation Commissioner in the grievance meeting held in Coimbatore South Region
Coimbatore: Grievance camp was held in Coimbatore South Region. Various petitions were submitted to the Corporation Commissioner Raja Gopal Sunkara.
The locals of Karumbukadai region requested desilting of Rajavaikkal in wards 75 and 86. The lake is filled with plastic waste, garbage, and other wastes which has been causing waterlogging and foul smells during the rainy season. Also, water enters into households during the rainy season, which the residents demanded immediate action.
Another petition was submitted by MDMK corporation secretary Vellangiri from Peelamedu. The sewage canals in ward 55 have not been renovated for many years. The sewage water mixes with rainwater during the season and enters into the houses. The garbage is not properly disposed of in the area as well.Immediate action was requested to solve this issue in Peelamedu
Assistant Commissioner of South Region Annadurai and officials were present at the camp.
