Coimbatore: An awareness campaign was held in Valparai, Coimbatore district by the Fire and Rescue Department to celebrate an accident-free Diwali.
The fire and rescue team used loudspeakers on vehicles to explain how to light fireworks safely. The campaign was conducted right across Valparai at Valparai Gandhi Statue campus, old bus stand, Stanmore junction, New Bus Station, Valparai post office and various places in the city.
The awareness campaign was extended by distributing leaflets to shops, bus passengers and pedestrians on the road. The Fire and Rescue Station Inspector Thangaraj. Special Sub-Inspector Premkumar, Velumani and many including Balamurali Rajkumar attended the event.
