A pet dog has saved the life of his master by fighting a bear that attacked him brutally in Coimbatore. Ramarajan, who was injured in the bear bite, was given first aid and taken to the Coimbatore Government Hospital for further treatment as recommended by the doctors.
Coimbatore: Ramaraj, a farmer from Kunjappanai next to Mettupalayam, lives with his wife and parents in his garden house.
He is the parent of a country dog christened Puppy. While Ramarajan was working in his agricultural land, a bear ventured into his field from the forest started attacking him.
In the impact of the attack, Ramarajan stumbled and fell down. The bear attempted to bite and injure Ramarajan, in the neck. However, he was putting up a fight for his life.
Puppy who heard the noise rushed to the scene. He started barking at the bear, warning it not to go too close to Ramarajan in a bid to save his master. At one point, the pet dog started biting the bear angrily. Frightened by the dog's action, the bear had no choice but to leave Ramarajan and run away into the forest.
Meanwhile, Ramarajan’s family and farmers from the vicinity rushed to the location and took an injured Ramarajan to the Mettupalayam Government Hospital, where he was given first aid and taken to the Coimbatore Government Hospital for further treatment as recommended by the doctors. His family stated that Ramarajan would have died if not for Puppy.
