A leopard that had entered the village of Adi Madhanur from a nearby forest last night beat a pet dog to death and dragged it away. People were shocked to see the leopard inside the residential area. The public has demanded that the forest department place a cage to capture the leopard before further casualties and human attacks occurs.
Coimbatore: People from villages including Upper Bhavani, Neelampathy and Adi Madhayanur have demanded to capture a leopard that killed a pet dog near Karamadai in Coimbatore district.
Due to the dense forest cover around the above villages, wild animals including wild elephants, leopards, bears, wild boar and deer from time to time roam into the agricultural lands within the residential area in search of food and water.
