Manikandan, (27) of Tirupur was a resident of Dharapuram Road, Kattupalayam. He was a Silambam Master in Velliangadu region in the district. He married Malini two years back. Malini lodged a complaint at the All Women Police Station stating she was abused and hit by her husband.
Manikandan and Malini were advised to undergo counselling sessions. Unaware of what is about to happen next, Malini left Manikandan at home and left for their session as per his instruction. Manikandan, in the afternoon live-streamed on Facebook and hanged himself to death. In the video, Manikandan is seen stating he was ashamed of the person he has become. Manikandan also had financial issues as he borrowed money. The Nallur Police have filed a case and an investigation is on.
