The Mega Customer Outreach Programme at Suguna Hall aimed to raise awareness about the various credit facilities available at leading banks and easy access to such credit facilities for the general public.

Coimbatore: A Mega Customer Outreach Programme was inaugurated by MP P R Natarajan and BJP MLA Vanathi Srinivasan at Suguna Hall in Coimbatore.

The event was jointly organized by the Department of Finance and Economic Services, Coimbatore District Level Banks Group and its member banks and was hosted by Coimbatore Canara Bank.

Addressing the gathering, MP P R Natarajan said, "The meeting chaired by the Tamil Nadu Chief Minister, M K Stalin has set a target of Rs. 20,000 crores this year. Rs. 4,700 crore has been disbursed during these two months. The Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu has asked in Chennai that this should be accelerated if the economy is to improve. 22 banks are participating here. We ask you to simplify the home loan, auto loan, education loan etc.All bank managers should create awareness on loans and make them easily available to the public. Determine the goal of the student loan and make it easy for everyone to avail it. The onus is on the banks to change the situation affected by the Coronavirus pandemic. Coimbatore district is a guide to India in MSMEs and is the “Mechanics Brain.”

The event aimed to raise awareness about various credit facilities available to leading banks, including home loans, auto loans, education loans, loans for small, micro and medium enterprises, personal loans and easy access to credit facilities for the general public. The event was presided over by Coimbatore District MP PR Natarajan, Coimbatore South Assembly Member Vanathi Srinivasan and Kavitha DRDA.

Speaking at the event, BJP MLA Vanathi Srinivasan, "It is common practice for such an event to take place across the country. In a situation where everyone suffering from the pandemic Coronavirus needs various assistance such as personal loan, auto loan and home loan, this is the time for the relationship for customers and banks to continue. Banks are also frontline employees. There is a great deal of respect for the banking sector. Under the Jan Tan Yojana scheme, all women were able to transact money digitally simultaneously without any restrictions. Also, the farmers were paid Rs. 6000 in their bank accounts and it was the banks that helped them the most. For those who do not have bank accounts, Zero Balance has helped people create bank accounts and has helped all to get a bank account," she added.

"Nirmala Sitharaman gave Rs. 20 lakh crore under the Atma Nirpad scheme during the Coronavirus period. Of this, 10 per cent of the loan amount is to be paid in the loan amount. Awareness is being made in all areas and are conducted in all areas, and information on bank loans is made available to the public. Therefore, it should be used properly by the public," reiterated Vanathi Srinivasan. She also urged the public to be responsible for the timely repayment of loans taken from banks.
