The Ex-MLA S. Gunasekaran personally handed over a petition with requesting that a list of demands to are met in Tirupur South.
Tirupur: Former MLA and Tirupur District MGR Youth Wing Secretary, S.Gunasekaran submitted a petition to the District Collector S.Vineeth. A number of AIADMK functionaries accompanied the former MLA.
In his petition, the former MLA listed a number of demands to be taken care of in the Tirupur South Constituency. The petition read,
1. Out of the 469 beneficiary petitions submitted for the ‘Amma Two Wheeler Scheme’ Subsidy, only 126 received the subsidies. 339 petitions are still pending, which should be provided immediately.
2. Former Chief Minister, Edappadi K Palaniswamy issued orders for distribution of housing site patta, which were uploaded in the website. Beneficiaries from Perichipalayam Annamar Colony, Kattuvalai, Pattatarasi Amman Colony, Military Colony, Sathya Nagar, and other areas of Tirupur South constituency were shortlisted. However, the patta cannot be downloaded from the site. This has to be expeditiously solved as the ruling party is attempting to trick the poor by once again issuing pattas for the beneficiaries. The pattas has to be downloaded for the benefit of the people.
3. A list of residential beneficiaries was prepared and sent for water resources, for slum clearance houses in Tirupur South constituency. The ruling party is deceiving the public by offering to buy a house again.
4. Based on the list of beneficiaries allotted by the board to the centre the former ruling party took in charge of the amount, ₹.1.50 lakh to be paid for the houses, under the slum clearance board, in Chennai. Vehicle rents were also paid by the government during the eviction. A similar request to provide it to Tirupur corporation area is made or measures to pay the amount through instalments have to be made.
5. Request to provide housing site patta for the beneficiaries in Tirupur Pattukottaiyar town who received lands under the Bhoomidaan Scheme was made. People have been living in the town for almost 40 years. The case which was filed in the court was withdrawn after the house owners and the inhabitants entered into an amicable agreement. The entire amount was paid to the owner on behalf of the residents, but they were unable to get water connection.
6. The locals of the Poolawari Sukumar Nagar area have not been deeded till date despite paying the entire amount due to the slum clearance board. A request to provide a deed for the residents in the area is made.
7. The water supply intervals in the Tirupur area are been increased to 15-20 days, due to which the public is left with no other option but to purchase truck water. Re-implementation of the former regime’s water supply cycle is requested. Also, a request to complete the fourth water supply project that was introduced by the former Chief Minister, is inaugurate the implemented to provide uniform water supply to the public.
8. The Property tax and garbage tax of Rs.4.5 lakhs is due to be paid by the Big Bazaar Mosque in the Tirupur Corporation area. Similarly, various industries have arrears in payment of property and garbage tax for many years. The former chief minister upon the request of DMK Head, M.K. Stalin, facilitated the payment of property tax alone for Chennai Corporation. The present regime should as well facilitate a similar payment for Tirupur Corporation.
9. Request to expedite completion of Tirupur Government Medical College which the Prime Minister of India and the former Chief Minister, Edappadi K Palaniswamy laid the foundation stone.
10. A purified water supply center was set up in various areas using my Assembly Constituency Development Fund. The ruling party’s interference is curbing the supply of purified water to the public. Therefore, steps have to be taken to provide properly treated water supply.
11. Request to fasten proper measurement of lands for the locals in Tirupur South Taluk, Mudalipalayam Panchayat, and Nachipalayam Panchayat areas and allot lands to the beneficiaries. Also, the beneficiaries have to be permitted to construct houses for themselves which have been subsidized by the Government under the ‘greenhouse scheme’.
12. The fingerprints are unable to be detected in the ration shops for the elderly people in Tirupur south. Request to provide monthly ration items if/ if not the fingerprints are detected.
In a subsequent interview, the former MLA, S Gunasekaran stated, "If the demands made in the petition are not met, there will be demonstrations and protests.”
