Coimbatore: The Health Department has ordered emergency wards to be set up for children and adults at the Coimbatore Government Hospital owing to the rising cases of dengue across various parts of Tamil Nadu.
The Health Department has advised the Coimbatore district administration to intensify preventive measures against dengue. The Coimbatore Government Hospital has been ordered to immediately set up an additional emergency ward on standby. The emergency ward is to have 15 beds for children and 25 for adults.
GH Dean, Dr. Nirmala opined that it was advisable for hospitals to be prepared to face all kinds of emergencies. Hence, an emergency ward at GH has been set up and an additional emergency unit is to be opened soon.
