Coimbatore: Karikalan (60), a retired civil engineer from Vadamadurai Kannan Nagar, next to Thudiyalur, Coimbatore, left with his wife Rani, son and daughter-in-law for a relative's wedding in Salem on the 23rd and returned home at 11 pmlast night. It was revealed that Rs 2 lakh cash and 50 soverigns of jewellery was stolen.
Periyanaickenpalayam DSP Rajapandian and Inspector Gnanasekaran have visited the scene and are investigating the complaint lodged with the Thudiyalur police. Srinivasan, an ice cream dealer in the GN area, was robbed of 50 soverigns and diamond jewelery worth Rs 1 crore at his home two days ago.
