Measures to enhance infrastructure are being taken and to avoid patients being sent to hospitals in the city for further treatments is demanded.
Valparai:Late DMK Chief, M. Karunanidhi’s Varumun Kappom camps were organized in Valparai.
Varumun Kappom, the flagship medical scheme introduced by the former Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam head and former Tamil Nadu Chief Minister, M. Karunanidhi was organized in Valparai. Joint Director of Medicine, Coimbatore District, Dr. Aruna headed the programme. Pollachi MP Shanmugasundaram lit the lamp and inaugurated the event.
MP Shanmugasundaram stated that measures are taken to enhance the infrastructure facilities in the Valparai Government Hospital (GH). General physicians, ophthalmologists, ENT, Siddha, Naturopathy doctors participated and conducted tests for the public and necessary medicines were distributed free of cost. Further treatments, surgeries will be carried out in Coimbatore Government Hospital at no cost.
Coimbatore South District Secretary Dr. Varadarajan called for frequent checkups for the prevention of breast cancer for women in the town. Seconding him, Valparai MLA Amul Kandasamy demanded that measures are taken to avoid patients visiting Valparai GH. He called for better treatment facilities at the Valparai hospital.
