Coimbatore: Zoho Corp founder and CEO, Sridhar Vembu stated that the company plans to venture into R&D, Research, and Development in the manufacturing sector. An estimate of ₹.50-100 crores investment is estimated.
The Zoho Corp founder and CEO, Sridhar Vembu visited the Kongu regions like Karur, Coimbatore, Erode, Tirupur for a week. He met with the local industrialists, entrepreneurs, association members.
Talking to the media here in Coimbatore, he stated, 'The Kongu region has to prosper like that of Japan, South Korea, Taiwan for which an investment in Research and career development is a need of the hour. We have come forward to invest Rs.50 to 100 crore for industrial development and research in the Kongu region. In collaboration with the industries here in the region, research will be done, modern requirements shall be developed and measures to export products to other countries shall be taken care of.'
He further said that Zoho’s extensive research and career development experience will also play an important role. Leading companies of various sectors from the Kongu region and Zoho brought together and this region shall be taken to a higher level, making the state a model for the entire nation.
He added that Zoho will participate in a consortium with local companies in various industries in all Kongu regions, especially textile products, ready-to-wear manufacturing, spinning mills, agriculture, mechanics to thrive successfully in this effort.
He said the prosperity of the Kongu region is mainly due to the cooperation and social commitment of the people of the various industries in the areas.
