A special gram sabha meeting was organised in Kothavadi for the workers of MGNREGA, in which demands of wage hike, ID for new work, were placed.
Coimbatore:A special Gram Sabha Meeting was held in Kothavadi Panchayat in Kinathukadavu on Saturday. The workers of Mahatma Gandhi NREGA participated.
On the occasion of the Financial Social Audit meeting for 2019-2020 of Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act at various places in Kinathukadavu Taluk, the meeting was organised in which innumerable workers of MGNREGA participated.
Demands like issue of identity cards for new work, wage hikes and an increase in the number of days of work were placed. Pollachi South Union Deputy Regional Development Officer Karthik and Kinathukadavu Panchayat Union Regional Resource Officer Sundararajan reviewed the social audit. A resolution that take action must be taken on the demands made were passed. The meeting was headed by Ramasamy, one of the villagers, and Panchayat President Ratnasamy and Vice President Paramasivam were present.
