Electricity Minister Senthil Balaji said that the Tamil Nadu government will soon introduce a new single app to allow the Coimbatore district industry to review applications and approve them immediately.
Coimbatore: Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M. Stalin has appointed ministers to oversee development work throughout Tamil Nadu district wise.
Accordingly, Electricity Minister Senthil Balaji has been appointed to oversee the development work in Coimbatore district.
Minister Senthil Balaji, who arrived in Coimbatore today, held consultations with government officials, including the District Collector and the Corporation Commissioner, on the development work.
Speaking to reporters after the meeting, Minister Senthil Balaji said: There are 1200 villages in 12 panchayats in Coimbatore and drinking water is being distributed in 332 villages once in three days.
He said steps would be taken to provide drinking water to the remaining villages once in two days under the new drinking water supply scheme. There is a shortage of drinking water in Coimbatore and consultations are being held on it. About 5,000 street lights in Coimbatore are currently unlit and will be repaired in rural and municipal areas within the next one week.
Similarly, a new committee comprising of government officials, people's representatives and volunteers has been set up for the industrial and development of the Coimbatore district and steps have been taken to consider the projects and bring them to the attention of the Chief Minister.
He further said that the Government of Tamil Nadu will soon introduce a new app to allow the industry to review applications and approve them in a one-to-one manner and the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu will introduce it. Top officials including myself are going to visit the Ward Board and meet the people and receive petitions through the People's Council programs. He said that appropriate action would be taken within 10 days of receipt of these petitions. He said a thorough investigation and action would be taken to prevent mineral plunder.
