Coimbatore: Kanagaraj, who worked as a car driver for former chief minister J. Jayalalithaa, mysteriously died in an accident.
The death was followed by a series of suicides and accidents all related to the Kodanadu murder case. The Ooty police visited Kanagaraj's brother's house yesterday and conducted an investigation. Jayalalithaa's brother Dhanapalan was questioned by the police in connection with the death of Jayalalithaa's former car driver.
Kanagaraj, (36), was the driver of former chief minister Jayalalithaa. In 2009, he was hired as a driver at Poes Garden. Following Jayalalithaa's death, murder and robbery took place on April 17, 2017 at the Kodanadu estate owned by Jayalalithaa. Kanagaraj, who is believed to be the main culprit, was killed in an accident on the Attur bypass road on April 28 when he visited his aunt's house in Attur. Thus, Attur police filed a case of accident. Kanagaraj's brother Danapalan, (43), said, “This is not an accident. He was deliberately knocked down by the vehicle.”
