The 6th phase of mega vaccination drive is being held in Tamil Nadu today. Of Coimbatore's population of 38,67,926, as many as 27,90,400 have been identified as eligible to be vaccinated. The beneficiaries are over the age of 18.
Of these, 93 percent were vaccinated in the first instalment. Similarly, 37 percent have been vaccinated with the second dose. So far, more than 5 lakh people have been vaccinated through mega vaccination drives.
