Investigation brings to light that accused in Pollachi Sexual Assault handed over Mutton briyani while on the way to prison

Relatives who followed the vehicle made a pit stop at the Nilambur bypass and handed over the mutton biryani of the Pollachi sex accused case. The biryani packets that were in a van, were consumed before heading to Salem.



Coimbatore: The vehicle transporting the Pollachi sex offenders' made a pit stop half way. Relatives of the accused handed over packets of mutton biryani. Salem police allowed the offenders to meet relatives while on the way, according to an investigation.

The case related to the incident of recording pornographic video and harassing young girls in Pollachi caused a stir across the country. The case is being investigated by CBI officials. Thirunavukarasu, Vasanthakumar, Manivannan, Satish and Sabarirajan arrested in this case are lodged in the Salem Central Jail. 4, including Arulanantham, are lodged in the Gobichettipalayam district jail.

The Chennai High Court has directed the Coimbatore Women's Court to conclude the case within six months. The court ordered the case to be heard in a locked courtroom as the trial is to be held in secrecy. Accordingly, last Wednesday, 5 persons including Thirunavukarasu were brought from Salem by the Armed Forces Special SI Subramaniam, 7 persons including Prabhu, Velkumar, Rajkumar, Natarajan, Rajeshkumar and Karthik.

On their way back to Salem after being produced in court, they stopped a vehicle on the Coimbatore-Nilambur bypass road and allowed the accused to interact with their relatives. The incident caused a stir. This video proving the incident went viral on social media and web sites. The Salem City Police Commissioner has ordered an inquiry into the incident. Seven people, including Special SI Subramaniam, were suspended on Wednesday night as they permitted the detainees to speak to relatives violating rules.

In this connection, 7 suspended persons were also questioned as to what happened. During the search to determine the truth, it was revealed that they stopped the vehicle and allowed the accused to get Biryani and talk to relatives. Relatives of the detainees have asked the police to put them in Coimbatore court and give them food. Relatives justified to the police that the detainees did not consume mutton biryani for a long time and said that they too would be hungry and thus they brought home-made mutton biryani for everyone.

Police clarified that no items should be bought in court. Following this, the relatives of followed the vehicle transporting the accused up to the Nilambur bypass road. They police vehicle made a pit stop there and Mutton Biryani was handed over by the relatives. The relatives also spoke to the accused. The meeting is said to have lasted for only 7 minutes. It was later revealed that everyone bought biryani packets and left in the van. The food was consumed after which the vehicle made its way to Salem. Authorities are investigating the incident.
