The city police are on the lookout for the miscreants who looted 30 sovereigns gold and lakh cash from two houses in the city.
Coimbatore: The District Police are probing and are on the lookout for miscreants who looted cash and gold ornaments from two houses in two individual incidents in the city, here.
Anand Sabeesan, (33) is from Mullai Nagar near PN Pudhur in Coimbatore and is an IT professional working in a company in Keeranatham. He left for a pilgrimage to Kumbakonam with his family on the 27th last month. Anand who returned home was shocked to find the front door broken. A further look inside revealed that the burglars have appropriated gold coins and ornaments including bangles, chains, rings, studs worth 16 sovereigns. An investigation is underway after Anand filed a theft complaint with the police station.
In a similar incident, Purushothaman, (62) who is from Vinayaga Nagar left for Bangalore with his wife a few days back. He returned home and found the front door broken open. 14 sovereigns of gold and cash ₹.1 lakh is reportedly been looted from the house.
Sniffer dogs, forensic experts were deployed at the crime scene and collected evidence. The police have registered a case and are investigating and probing the incidents to identify the miscreants who are involved in the two individual crimes.
