People going out of town have to upload their home address, name and photos on the mobile application called Sako (Safe Kovai). Arrangements are in place for police teams to patrol the vicinity in the morning and evening as per the home address recorded by this app.
Coimbatore: Coimbatore District Police has introduced a new app to prevent burglary incident. The mobile app is christened Safe Kovai.
People going out of town and abroad have to upload their home address, name and photos on Sako (Safe Kovai). These records are immediately forwarded to the District Police Control Room and the information is sent through the mobile app to the concerned police station. Tabs have been provided to all police stations in the district for this purpose.
Arrangements have been made for police teams to patrol the vicinity in the morning and evening and the home address recorded by the app will be under the police radar.
SP Selvanagarathinam said it could detect additional locked homes and provide security if registered with this app. The public is advised to take advantage of this app and the SP said that arrangements have been made in collaboration with a private company to install CCTV and sensor equipment in the homes of the public who travel abroad on a fee basis.
