A ceremony was held at the Police Training School Grounds on Avinashi Road, Coimbatore to pay homage to the 377 police personnel who lost their lives in the line of duty.
Coimbatore: A ceremony was held at the Police Training School Grounds on Avinashi Road, Coimbatore to pay homage to the 377 policemen who died in the line of duty across the country with 60 gun shots. Every year a homage event, and a tribute to the officials who died heroically while on duty in India is observed all over the country. As part of this, a wreath was laid at the memorial of the martyred policemen at the Coimbatore Police Training School ground this morning.
In particular, tributes were paid to the 377 constables who died heroically on duty across India from 01-09-2020 to 31-08-2021. Coimbatore West Zone IG, Senior police officials, including Sudhakar, City Police Commissioner of Police Deepak M Damore, Coimbatore Commodity DIG Muthusamy and District Superintendent of Police Selva Nagarathnam, paid their respects to the martyred officials near the memorial with a wreath and 60 gun shots. It was followed by a procession of 30 policemen playing musical instruments.
