The passengers travelling on a bus, informed the forest employee Muthuraj of a leopard cub found near a tea estate. Muthuraj rescued the leopard cub from the road and set it free in the dense forest.

On Oct-20 in areas around Valparai leopard movements were seen in privately owned tea estates. Last night, while on a government bus in Balaji town on the way from Valparai to Akkamalai, the passengers of the bus saw a leopard coming out of the tea estate on a small road.
As it was night time, the passengers informed the forest employee Muthuraj. The man rescued the leopard cub from the road and set it free in the dense forest. The public praised the forest department employee who ventured in to the area where the wildlife roamed at night, regardless of fear of his life.
