Missing cell phone complaints were recorded and investigated by the CSR. The missing cell phones were located and handed over to the owners.
Coimbatore: Complaints to the district cyber cell police were on the rise stating that cell phones are being stolen continuously in various parts of Coimbatore district.
125 cell phones were found and handed over to the owners last April. 141 cell phones were recovered after an investigation into more than 300 pending complaints.
The cell phones were handed over to their respective owners by the District SP Selva Nagarathinam.
He said there were often complaints that cell phones were being stolen from places where tourists go to bathe and in buses. These complaints were recorded and investigated.
More persons are stealing cell phones and selling them in stores stating false reasons. Thus, guidelines are issued to cell phone shop owners. The SP said “the public should immediately lodge a complaint with the police if such a cell phone goes missing and he cautioned people to keep their cell phones safe.”
