Two men who stay alongside Rajan on the platform, attacked him for not giving them money for alcohol. The 50-year old man succumbed to his injuries.
Coimbatore:A 50-year old man who was severely injured after he was hit with a rock succumbed to his injuries on Monday. The police have filed a case of murder and are on the lookout for the duo involved in the crime.
Rajan, a 50-year-old man lives on a platform in Ansari Street, Ramnagar of Katoor Police station limits. Rajan is a garbage collector and was found injured last morning. He was rushed to the hospital by the passers-by. The public also informed the Katoor Police station. The police registered an attempt to murder case and investigated the incident.
Investigations revealed that a father-son duo who dwell alongside Rajan on the platform demanded money to consume alcohol on Saturday night. Rajan refused to give them money. As a result the duo physically attacked Rajan and hit him on the head with a rock.
Rajan was undergoing treatment at the government hospital in Coimbatore, and he succumbed to his injuries this morning. The Katoor police have altered the case from attempt to murder, to a case of murder. Police is scanning the footage of the CCTV cameras in the area to nab the murderers.
