Anandhkumar, (68) was from Kembatti Colony, Big Bazar Street in Coimbatore. He owned a jewellery workshop in the same area. He was under therapy for depression and insomnia.
Anandhkumar, who was not well physically, was stressed and attempted suicide by consuming too many sleeping pills at one time. An unconscious Anandhkumar was rushed to the government hospital by his family members. The doctors treated him and he was monitored in the ICU, but he succumbed despite the treatment.
The Big Bazar Street Police have registered a case under Section 174 and an investigation is initiated.
