Tirupur: The Tirupur Corporation Commissioner inspected the bins that are placed in important public locations to collecting plastic wastes in Tirupur.
Individual bins to collect plastic wastes are placed in 10 places in Tirupur including at the 4 zonal offices, corporation office, district commissioner’s office among other prime public locations. Pet bottles, cool drink bottles and other plastic items will be collected and sent for recycling process.
Sources who are aware of the development shared that the initiative is implemented to stop the disposal of polythene covers and plastic wastes in the Noyyal River. Besides this, steps have been taken to remove polythene wastes that are dumped in the streets. As part of the initiative, a bin was placed at the corporation office in Tirupur.
