Corporation Commissioner Raja Gopal Sunkara inspected the work being carried out by the sanitary staff in the East and South Zone. He advised the sanitary staff to spread awareness among the public about mosquito-borne diseases.
Coimbatore: Corporation Commissioner Raja Gopal Sunkara visited Coimbatore East and South Zone visited and inspected the wards in the zones.

He supervised the work being carried out by the sanitary staff at the Nanjundapuram Health Inspector's office premises under Coimbatore Corporation East Zone Ward 75. He advised the sanitary staff to spread awareness among the public to about mosquito-borne diseases. As part of the inspection, the Corporation Commissioner inspected the Nanjundapuram Noyyal main canal.

Following this, he issued an order to expedite the work to block the rain water drainage canal in the south zone in Karumbukkadai, Saramedu and Fathima Nagar.

He inspected the motor fitting and waste water discharge works.
Later, the Corporation Commissioner and Special Officer Raja Gopal Sunkara said, "As the monsoon is currently intensifying in Coimbatore, mosquito control personnel and health workers need to identify work in areas where mosquito larvae are produced by the presence of unwanted coconut shells, old tires, etc. and prevent dengue mosquito production. Schools, colleges, theatres, hospitals and other shopping malls should be inspected regularly and dengue mosquito eradication activities should be intensified. In addition, debris from areas of the corporation must be removed immediately on a priority basis."
The corporation commissioner said the corporation's assistant commissioners have instructed health workers and staff to immediately do away with the rainwater stagnation. East Zone Assistant Commissioner Senthilkumar Rathinam, Executive Engineer Ramasamy, Assistant Engineer Satya, Zonal Health Officers Ramu and Muruga were present during the inspection.
