In a press meet hosted in Tirupur, the BJP functionary, H Raja stated that the Hindu Religious & Charitable Endowments Department (HR & CE), Government of Tamil Nadu is incapable of maintaining temples and the board should no longer maintain temples.
Tirupur: The BJP National Executive Member H Raja at an interview in Tirupur stated Hindu Religious & Charitable Endowments Department (HR & CE), Government of Tamil Nadu is incapable of maintaining temples and hence, they should give up this responsibility immediately.
A public meeting was hosted in Tirupur on behalf of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). H. Raja, former national secretary of BJP who participated in the programme as chief guest interacted with the media post the meeting. During the conversation, he stated that the Hindu Religious & Charitable Endowments Department (HR & CE), Government of Tamil Nadu is incapable of handling and maintaining temples. He added that the department lacked transparency with regard to taking gold from temples and that the official website of board does not have any GOM related to melting of gold scheme of temple jewellery.
He said, “20% of the temples under the HR & CE, Government of Tamil Nadu are unusable and not maintained. The department is incapable of maintaining the temples and hence it should withdraw from taking up new temples for maintenance.“
He added that the department should give up its responsibility and stated that the Bharathiya Janata Party is in the process of making it happen.He called upon to transfer the accused officials in the department and take up only religion-based education in colleges that are under the Hindu Religious & Charitable Endowments Department (HR & CE), Government of Tamil Nadu.
H.Raja, in the press meet, stated that 100 crore people in the country, will be vaccinated, a feat which developed countries like the USA have not achieved. He demanded that the Tamil Nadu government put up a banner stating ‘vaccines provided free of cost by the central government’.

The BJP leader demanded that details of rice supplied under the Central Government package in ration shops have to be disclosed. The event was attended by a large number of BJP state district functionaries.
