Two with dengue fever admitted to Coimbatore Government Hospital

A. Nimala, Dean of Government Hospital, Coimbatore, confirmed that the blood samples of both patients have tested positive for dengue. Following this, both the patient's with dengue are admitted to the special ward where they are undergoing treatment. Both are being closely monitored by doctors. She also said that the public should be vigilant and safe as dengue is likely to spread during the monsoon season.


Coimbatore: Two patients who have tested positive for dengue fever are currently undergoing treatment at the special ward at the Coimbatore Government Hospital.

The state is witnessing a slump in the covid cases. The North East monsoon season is the peak season for the spread of dengue fever.

Prevention measures are taken by the local authorities and the health department to control the spread of dengue fever. Teams are formed by the Coimbatore Corporation and the health department in rural areas to eradicate dengue spreading mosquitoes. A door-to-door inspection is initiated and dengue prevention activities are carried out.

Against the backdrop, two people from Coimbatore are admitted to the Coimbatore Government Medical College Hospital for dengue fever. Both are currently undergoing treatment in the special ward. In this connection, A. Nimala, the Dean of Government Hospital, said that the blood samples of both of them have tested positive for dengue fever. Both are being closely monitored by doctors. She cautioned the public to be vigilant and safe as dengue is likely to spread during the monsoon season.
