The man who possessed government-banned other state lottery tickets reportedly for sale in Vellakoil has been arrested in Tirupur.
Tirupur: Vellakoil Sub Inspector Mala and police on routine patrol in the Uppupalayam area bordering the Vellakoil police station in Tirupur district noticed a man standing suspiciously near the Velavan agency and observed that the man tried to move from there.
The police interrogated the man and he gave contradictory answers. As the police became suspicious they searched and found 17 other state Atchaya lottery tickets for sale and Rs. 600 cash in man’s shirt pocket. The man is identified as (56), is the son of Dandapani, of Vellakoil, LKC Nagar area. A case is registered and the accused appeared in court. He was remanded in custody.
