As per the predictions of the Meteorological Department, selected cities in the Western Ghats, including Coimbatore and Nilgiris were anticipated to receive anywhere between heavy and very heavy rains due to atmospheric circulation and convection. Dark clouds were visible in Kinathukadavu since morning.
