Coimbatore: Forest officials stated that the T23, a man eater tiger rescued at Mudumalai in Nilgiris district, is currently undergoing treatment at the Mysuru Wildlife Park and Rescue Centre. The treatment began today (Saturday).
The T23 tiger was captured in the Nilgiris and was transported to Mysuru Wildlife Park Rescue and Rehabilitation Centre last night. The Tamil Nadu medical team accompanied the tiger and formally handed over the wild cat to the Mysuru Forest Department.
Reportedly, en-route, the T23 tiger fell unconscious, but in the middle of the night, the animal tried to get out of its cage. Unable to escape from its cage, the T23 was furious.
Chief Conservator of Forests, Shekhar Kumar Neeraj said the tiger is being treated for its injuries at the Animal Rescue and Rehabilitation Centre in Mysuru from today. The wild cat survived more than 10 injuries. Sources from the department confirmed that the animal is in good health.
After handing over the tiger to the Mysuru Animal Rescue and Rehabilitation Centre, the Tamil Nadu team of officials returned to the Nilgiris.
