The skill development programme is initiated to complement the changing needs of the market and equip students from schools and colleges accordingly.
Coimbatore: A Skill development and entrepreneurship program, under ‘Skill Favs’, was inaugurated at a private hotel in Race Course in Coimbatore. The programme focuses on skilling school children and college goers to complement them with the changing market needs.
Union Skill Development and Entrepreneurship Minister, Rajiv Chandrasekhar virtually inaugurated the programme. New educational programmes and methods are being introduced in education system to keep pace with the changing world. Skill Favs being the first-of-its-kind in the country is initiated to provide guidance, develop the skills of the students in industrial and multi-faceted areas.
MP Raghavan, Kozhikode, Kerala participated as Chief Guest. Dr. Sethu Madhavan, Director, Skill Favs stated, “The centre is focused on improving the skills of school children and college students during their academic years, especially in Tamil Nadu. Coimbatore district, with its educational institutions, is the educational hub of Tamil Nadu.More centres will soon be opened in major cities of the country like Bengaluru, Kochi and Puducherry in the coming years.”
