The man a habitual drinker, killed his father last afternoon over a petty argument and fled from the place before anyone could notice it.
Coimbatore: The Peelamedu Police in Coimbatore arrested a man, who under the influence of alcohol murdered his father.
Raviraj, a habitual drinker killed his father by trampling him on Thursday after the duo had an argument. Raviraj fled the scene of crime and absconded after murdering his father.
Raju alias Durariraj, (73), son of Masilamani lives in Peelamedu with his wife Rajeshwari, (63) and his son Raviraj.Rajeshwari workers as house help and Raviraj is an I.T. professional.
Raviraj is a habitual drinker and the family had disputes frequently because of this. Last morning Rajeshwari left for work as usual and returned home at 3 pm. She found her house open and was shocked to find her husband dead with footprints on his chest and head.
Neighbours, informed Rajeshwari that her son was home after she left. She lodged a complaint with the Peelamedu Police. The police officers arrived at the scene of crime and sent the corpse for autopsy.
Further, investigations revealed that the deceased’s son Raviraj who was drunk pushed his father down, trampled him on his chest, and killed him by hitting the head to the ground following a petty argument.
The police arrested Raviraj who absconded from the scene of crime. A case has been registered and further investigation is on.
