Back home in Coimbatore, Vijayadasami Vidyarambham was organized at the Ayyappa Temple on behalf of Coimbatore Ayyappa Seva Sangam.

The ceremony is performed on Vijayadasami, also called Dasara or Dussehra, which symbolises victory over evil and symbolises that we are going to conquer the darkness of illiteracy and ignorance. It is hoped that the grace of Goddess Saraswati will be fully realized if we start enrolling our children in school and start singing, musical instrument training, dance training, foreign language training and learning a new profession on this day.
Back home in Coimbatore, Vijayadasami Vidyarambham was organized at the Ayyappa Temple on behalf of Coimbatore Ayyappa Seva Sangam.
On the occasion of the Vijayadasami festival at the Sidhapudur Ayyappan Temple here, a programme was held to initiate education for children through the Vidyarambham ceremony. The auspicious ceremony was performed on Friday. Vidyarambham is performed in temples and schools on the eve of Vijayadasami, which is regarded as the main days of Navratri.
The children started their education at the Ayyappa Temple in Sidhapudur, Coimbatore by writing their first alphabets on rice. It is believed that when the child is initiated in arts or education on this auspicious day, the child will excel in the respective field.
Most importantly, when children learn, it is customary to first write on rice. It is traditionally believed that wisdom begins with the blessings of Guru (teacher) and Sarasvati, (the Hindu goddess of learning and the arts). In many states this event is celebrated with great joy.
The first day of joining the school will start today by writing the first alphabets in rice. The most important thing in the life of every human being is education. Through education one begins to search for knowledge and wisdom in the world. It is believed that by worshiping Goddess Saraswati, we take the first step in our quest for wisdom.
At the Vijayadasami Vidyarambam that was organized at Coimbatore Ayyappa Temple on behalf of Coimbatore Ayyappa Seva Sangam, here Hari Sri Ganapataye Namaha was written on children's tongues. Of these, more than 12 Namboodiris came from Kerala. Ramachandran, President of Ayyappa Seva Sangam, Velayutham, Vice President, Vijayaragavan, Secretary, Pathirasamy, Viswanathan, Treasurer, Velayutham, Treasurer, and many others from Ayyappa Seva Sangam were present.
