Knitting companies in various parts of the country, including Tirupur Rakkiyapalayam Kumar Nagar, Alankadu, Karuvampalayam and Lakshmi Nagar, have temporarily stopped production on Thursday. The Ayutha Puja Festival was celebrated with much fanfare in the presence of the workers.

These hosiery units employ millions of workers from Kerala, Karnataka and other parts of India. The annual Ayutha Puja is celebrated here. As the second wave of coronavirus has completely subsided, the hosiery units have resumed operations and production.
