Do not stand under concrete sheds, under a tree, or under the umbrella of a bus stop. Also avoid standing next to the window or door of the house during thunder and lightning. Do not stand near inclined poles. Disconnect the cable connected to the TV during a thunderstorm. If there is loss of fuse in the transformer, the concerned electrical board employee must be notified to repair it. Do not go close to transformers, poles, distribution boxes during rainy seasons.
If you experience an electric shock in the house, you should immediately put on your shoes, turn off the main switch and report it to the electricity board office.” Furthermore, he advised to avoid standing in waterlogged areas. “If there is nothing nearby to take shelter under, during thunder or lightning, find a place for yourself under a low-lying areas that does not have power lines, poles, trees, metal wire fences and stand safely.
