Inspector Shanmugam of the Mettupalayam Police Station rushed to the Samiyar Estate and confiscated about 6 tonnes of public distribution system rice, which had been illegally stockpiled. The consignment was handed over to the Civil Division.
Coimbatore: Coimbatore District Police confiscated 6 tonnes of public distribution system rice stored in Coimbatore and hand it over to the Civil Supplies Officer.
On the orders of Coimbatore District Superintendent of Police Selva Nagarathinam, Inspector Shanmugam of the Mettupalayam Police Station rushed to the Samiyar Estate and confiscated about 6 tonnes of public distribution system (PDS) rice which had been illegally stockpiled and handed it over to the Civil Division.
Similarly, on the 7th of this month, public distribution system rice stored in the same area was confiscated and handed over to the civil authorities. It is to be noted that two persons who are involved in this case are remanded in judicial custody.
The District Superintendent of Police has ordered the authorities to take stern action against those involved in illegal activities.
