The Corporation Commissioner who inaugurated the initiative, distributed a nutrition kit to the expectant mothers.
Coimbatore: Corporation Commissioner and Special Officer, Raja Gopal Sunkara, inaugurated the Kalaignar’s ‘Varumun Kappom’ scheme in Coimbatore.
The inauguration was held at the Corporation Middle School in Chinnavedapatti, 42nd ward, Coimbatore North, on Tuesday.

The Commissioner distributed a Nutrition Kit to the expectant mothers. He then stated that,
“As many as 21 stalls have been set up at the venue for ‘Varumun Kappom’. These, stalls double up as testing centres for eyes and nose examination, COVID vaccine, COVID testing, and other medical tests.”

“Free blood tests, ultrasound, ECG, and ECHO tests will also be done under this scheme. After the examination, the basic treatment and medicines will be provided free of cost at the camp. The public shall take advantage of this opportunity to avail the benefit of Varumun Kappom scheme and receive treatments for the disease at an early stage,” informed the Corporation Commissioner and Special Officer.
The special camp was attended by Deputy Director of District Health Services Aruna, Corporation Health Officer Satish Kumar, Assistant Health Officer Vasanth Diwakar, Assistant Commissioner of North Zone Mohanasundari, Assistant Executive Engineer Senthil Bhaskar, Regional Health Officer Ramachandran, Corporation Officials, Doctors, Nurses and members of the public.
