A businessman, committed suicide as four people cheated him of his money by borrowing his camera for rent.
Coimbatore: Four people have been arrested in Coimbatore for abetting a businessman, by defrauding him of money and his camera.
Venkatesh, 39 of Kothagiri, Nilgiris is a real estate developer who also owns and runs a studio. According to reports, following loss in business, he decided to lend his camera which is worth 6 lakh. Ajith, (25), and Dheena, (25) of Salem took the camera on lease. Venkatesh anticipated to make some money by lending his camera. The duo borrowed the camera and failed to pay the rent. Venkatesh tried to reach them through phone, however, it was switched off. A complaint was lodged at the Mettupalayam Police station by the victim. A case was registered and investigation was underway.
Venkatesh, distressed by the loss in business and losing his camera, took the extreme step by lying on a railway track. Railway police registered a case and began investigating the reason for the suicide. Upon examination a suicide note written by Venkatesh which stated the reason for him to take the extreme step was mentioned.
The railway police led by inspector Krishnan, began searching for Ajith and Dheena and tracked them in Salem. The police took in custody Ajith and Dheena and interrogated them. Investigation revealed that they had sold the camera with the help of Gunasekaran, 29, and Vimal.
All the four were arrested for abetting Venkatesh’s suicide and the camera is recovered.
