The Pollachi Sub-Collector inspected the areas that had requested for setting up firework shops and issued permissions for 14 out of 17 shops.
Coimbatore: 14 shops in Kinathukadavu taluk have received permission to set up shops for the sale of fireworks.
17 shops had petitioned seeking approval for the sale of fire crackers, ahead of the Diwali festival. Police officials were inspecting the areas in context to the applicants. Pollachi Sub-Collector, Thakare Shubham Dnyandeorao inspected the shops on Monday with regard to the applications.

14 out of the 17 shops were given approval. Two places in Kinathukadavu and one in Nallatipalayam were rejected as the place was unsuitable to set up shops for sale of fireworks.

The Sub-Collector of Pollachi was accompanied by revenue officials including Kinathukadavu Tahsildar Sasirekha, Revenue Inspector Lalita, Village Administrative Officers Vimal Madhavan and Vasudev.
