Tirupur: A petition has been filed with the Tirupur District Collector, S Vineeth on behalf of the Shiv Sena seeking action against the non-compliant coconut fibre factories operating in the vicinity of Nathakadaiyur in Kangayam taluka of Tirupur district.
According to the petition, the coconut fibre factories operating in the areas including Paranchervali and Maruthurai have been severely affected by non-compliance with regulations and are facing problems in areas including agriculture and livestock-rearing.
The Shiv Sena alleged that no action had been taken in spite of multiple petitions over the past eight years, and that action should be taken against factories operating in violation of Government regulations under the Public Welfare Scheme.
